\nthat\u2019s far from the truth!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n An estimated 80% of reproductively active people will have HPV at
\nsome point in their lives. Since most HPV infections have no symptoms,

FACT<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n Even after diagnosis with HPV, there is no way to pinpoint for how long a certain infection has been there.\u00b2\u2077<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n
\n \n\n\n The virus can remain in the body from anywhere between a few weeks, all
\nthe way to an entire lifetime, without any sign of its presence.
\nAn HPV infection may reveal symptoms, such as lesions, warts, or cervical
\nabnormities after months or years. Its ability to lie silent for all this time

FACT<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n The HPV vaccination is well-tolerated and does not cause any major health complications.\u00b2\u2078<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n
\n \n\n\n Just like any other vaccine or drug, the HPV vaccine may have minimal side
\ne\ufb00ects (SEs) including, soreness or redness in the arm where the
\ninjection was administrated. Other common SEs include a low-grade
\nfever, headache or tiredness, nausea, or muscle\/joint \u00a0discomfort. All
\nthese SEs are brief and last for a very short time. An allergic response
\nis not common, if someone is allergic to any of the vaccine\u2019s
\ncomponents, then the vaccine should be avoided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n Studies on the vaccine itself were conducted for years (at least 10),
and these are strictly it is strictly monitored by the Food and Drug

\n \n\n\n A recent study of more than 200,000 women discovered no link between
\nthe HPV vaccine and premature ovarian failure. In contrast, the HPV
\nvaccine can help protect fertility by preventing gynaecological issues

FACT<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n Pap smear testing can only identify cervical pre-cancers, and does not address other HPV-related anogenital cancers.\u00b2\u2079<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n
\n \n\n\n Pap smears have been very e\ufb00ective at reducing cervical cancer rates in
\nthe in the U.S. However, HPV vaccination can prevent more cancers than just cervical
\ncancer and can also prevent the precancers that are detected via Pap smears. Pap
\nsmears have not prevented any cases of cervical cancers, but
\nmerely served as a mechanism to treat high-grade lesions with no impact

FACT<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n For HPV infections that do not clear, there is also often a rapid development of HPV-related cytological changes and genital wart development.\u00b2\u2079<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n
\n \n\n\n While the 90% clearance estimate represents a substantial proportion
\nof HPV infections, things need to be put into perspective. Even if 90%
